Hello and welcome to the “reboot” of my Indy Drummer blog. I had a blog several years ago and decided to dismantle it after I stopped doing much with it. Now that I am actively drumming again, I decided 2016 was a good year to get the blog fired up again. As you can see, I still have tons of work to do. I have my graphic designer working on an updated logo. I will be working on getting some new photos taken. And, I’ll need to bring it all together with some thoughtful design. I’m also having trouble getting my domain name, indydrummer.com, to point here. So, I have some technical hurdles to jump as well. Meanwhile, I can begin posting and writing and hopefully the entire thing will begin to take shape in the next month or so.
One of the key reasons I wanted to start the blog back up again was to have a place to publish all of the drum charts that I have been making in the past few months. I’m also assuming that I will continue to make them, so this blog will be the place to find them all and download the ones you find useful. I’ll write more about my charting process in the future, but for now you can get a glimpse into the process by watching the YouTube video at the end of this post. I intend to make an in-depth video that walks through all the details of how I use Finale Notepad to create my charts and save them to the forScore iPad app for rehearsals and gigs.
For now, I just wanted to get a personal welcome post out there, so you’re not just staring at a page of drum charts. Thanks for dropping by. Wish me luck getting this all put together. I’ve got some big ideas for 2016 and I am hoping I can make them happen so that people like you (and drummers everywhere) will find this blog to be a useful resource.
Happy 2016!
